| Video Discription | This patient underwent endoscopic sinus surgery one week before and was noted to have postoperative clear rhinorrhea. A skull base defect of the right ethmoid roof is evident with pulsations of the brain seen hanging into the right nasal cavity. The mucosal edges have been freshened and preparation is made for receiving a septal mucosa graft, harvested from the opposite side of the nose. The graft is grasped and placed following superficial or mucous secreting side externally into the internasal cavity. The graft is generous in size and covers the defect in it’s entirety. Care is taken that the mucosa graft is not shifted for a period of one week by putting a second layer of absorbable packing of some type and this will be removed one week after surgery. |
