| Video Discription | This is a small clip showing the dissection lateral to the carotid while excising a solid calcified craniopharyngioma. It is mandatory not to sacrifice any perforators during the dissection and the pull and counter traction needs to balanced so that no perforator is sheared off. Also when the tissue cannot be separated sharp dissection is a safer option. I like to use the phrase " Do not pull when you cannot see and do not pull when you can see as well !!" one needs to have control and the Zero suction in my left hand is providing the counter traction and the blunt dissection as well. |
