| Video Discription | [Description of each step of surgery is on the left hand top corner of the video] Purandare's cervicopexy is an abdominal sling surgery for young patients with pelvic organ prolapse who wish to conserve their fertility and menstrual function. This is a dynamic sling surgery wherein, every act of increased abdominal pressure pulls the uterus upwards. Originally described by Dr V N Purandare in 1965 this method has undergone a few modifications and has remained as a technically feasible method which provides dynamic support to the uterus. Our modification includes 1. use of polypropelene mesh. 2. criss cross attachement of mesh on to the rectus muscle and sheath 3. leaving a bare suprapubic area free of mesh for future pelvic surgery. The modified purandare's cervicopexy is a technically easy surgery (compared to other sling surgeries),provides excellent results with minimal complications.
