This video is demonstrating laparoscopic technique of removing urethral mesh erosion that occurred 9 years after the TVT insertion. Advantages of the laparoscopic approach include magnified visualisation of anatomical structures with more precise complete excision of eroded portions of mesh, minimising risk of recurrence of erosion. Patients additionally benefit from reduced postoperative pain, shorter admission and a quicker return to activities of daily living compared to the open approach. This approach is a feasible and safe way to perform mid-urethral sling excision. |
