| Video Discription | This Surgery was done for a suspected case of cancer of Ovary . It was a complex ovarian mass with raised CA 125 . We planned to do a diagnostic scope and send the oophorectomy for frozen section and then plan a midline laparotomy, however to our surprise it turned out to be a Grade 4 endometriosis with the left adnexa adherent over the left pelvic peritoneaum and the left uterosacrals also the peritoneum overlying the left ureter. The right uterosacral had pulled in the rectum obliterating the pouch of Douglas. hence this dissection focuses on the retroperitoneal approach to tackle difficult situations and to tackle the dance adhesions that we frequently encounter in endometriosis . Dr. Archit Pandit is a senior consultant in the department of surgical oncology at MAX Institute of cancer care, MAX Shalimar Bagh. He was awarded of agold medal for residency in MS General surgery from Karnataka state -university, Rajiv Gandhi University of health sciences. After undergoing his surgical oncology 3 years residency at Indiaโs most premier institute AIIMS, He did a fellowship in laparoscopic and Robotic Surgical oncology. |
