| Video Discription | This video demonstrates the resection of a callosal arteriovenous malformation (AVM) and clipping of contralateral a pericallosal feeding artery aneurysm. The AVM was a Spetzler-Martin Grade II / Lawton-Young Grade IV and resided squarely within the body for the corpus callosum with a projection into the body of the lateral ventricle. Using a contralateral transcallosal approach, the AVM was circumferentially dissected and resected using gravity to help deliver the nidus into the surgical corridor. The dissection down the interhemispheric fissure was taken further forward to reach the aneurysm on the feeding artery, which was clipped with a stack of intersecting clips. . The patient had no postoperative complications. His AVM was cured angiographically and he was discharged home on postoperative day three. |
