| Video Discription | This video showcases the robotic-assisted removal of an ectopic parathyroid adenoma located in the superior mediastinum. The procedure was performed using the Da Vinci Xi system. The patient was positioned supine, and the setup included three robotic ports along with one assistant port. Specimen extraction was facilitated by extending the assistant port. To ensure complete excision of the parathyroid adenoma, four verification steps were conducted during the procedure: 1. Intense ICG retention in the adenoma was confirmed using the Firefly mode. 2. The sink test was performed. 3. A serum PTH assay was conducted 20 minutes post-resection to verify the results. 4. Following the excision, the specimen was sent for frozen section analysis, confirming the presence of parathyroid tissue.
