| Video Discription | This video shows the basic technique of the pial synangiosis procedure. The EDAS is considered more suitable for the pediatric Moyamoya cases where the small caliber of the vessels poses a technical difficulty to the direct bypass procedures. The technique also shows favorable results owing to the fact that the ischemic cortical areas allow for neovascularization to take place at a satisfactory rate. The idea of the procedure is just to provide enough extracranial vascular substrates (Dural flaps, superficial temporal artery, pericranial flaps) for such neovascularization |
