| Video Discription | This 63 yrs gentleman came with sever low back ache of 3wks ,and left lower limb sever radiating pain (neurogenic claudication),unable to stand and walk.3days developed inability to lift his left foot (foot drop) MRI showed extruded disc L4-L5 with significant left L5 root compression He underwent MINIMAL ACCESS SURGICAL TECHNIQUE (MAST) micro lumbar discectomy( M.L.D) procedure (MEDTRONICS),where 1.5 cm vertical incision is made 1cm lateral to mid line,and serial dilators are inserted and muscles are seperated last dilator is1.5 cms in diameter,position is confirmed on intra op imaging and surgical procedure is conducted as shown ,magnification and illumination are of great advantage,out come is excellent,minimal post op pain ,ambulant same day/ next day |
