Kratom can be used as a stimulant, it helps to relieve pain, and it is even used to help withdrawal of opioid drugs. Kratom contains a chemical called mitragynine, which, at low doses, binds to adrenaline receptors, causing a stimulating effect that makes you feel energetic and euphoric. At higher doses, mitragynine binds to opioid receptors, which explains how it can relieve pain, and why it can help with opioid withdrawal. If you are addicted to opioid drugs for pain relief, Kratom can help your withdrawal symptoms because it binds to opioid receptors and relieves pain…but you can become addicted to Kratom.
