| Video Discription | In the video I described pouch of Douglas as the most dependable part of the peritoneal cavity during standing position. Actually the word should be most dependent. The lower part of the pouch that remains at lowest level of the peritoneal cavity during standing position. Just imagine you have kept 10ml of water in a elongated sized inflated balloon. When you keep the balloon horizontal, water inside it should be at the middle position. But when you change the elongated balloon's position from horizontal to vertical then does the position of water remain same? no. The little amount of water then goes to the lower pole of that elongated balloon. This lower pole is the most dependent part. Our peritoneal cavity is also like this elongated inflated balloon. And any collection of fluid is like the small amount of water told in the story. And you will tell the pouch of Douglas as most dependent part and you have to mention the position also.
