| Video Discription | The video clip demonstrates the gastropexy being performed in a 2 month old child weighing 2 kg having recurrent gastric volvulus. The first 5 mm port is inserted at umbilicus using open technique. Then 3 mm ports are inserted at the level of umbilicus on either side in midclavicular line. Transperitoneal sutures are used to fix the stomach with abdominal wall. Small incision (1-2 mm) taken on the abdominal wall at the selected site and the suture is inserted in the abdominal cavity. Then using laparoscopic needle holder the bite is taken with the anterior wall of the stomach. Then using the port closure needle, the suture is pulled from inside to the outside of the abdomen. Typically, three sutures of non-absorbable material are used to fix the stomach. After insertion of all the sutures, they are tied one after another, the knot remains in the subcutaneous tissue. Post operatively, patient was started feeds after 6 hours and discharged on 2nd post op day. |
