Middle ear exploration reveals a dislocated total prosthesis (TORP) which was positioned from the tympanic membrane (TM) to the stapes footplate: TM-to-footplate procedure. There is an absent malleus and a stapes ankylosis. This video shows the insertion of a malleus replacement prosthesis (MRP) which is positioned at 11 o'clock in the external auditory canal. A second stage stapedotomy with TORP insertion (TM-to-stapedotomy procedure) and vein graft interposition will be scheduled after 6 months of follow up.
