| Video Discription | 76 year old male with 3 visits to ER within 1 year for a Small bowel obstruction. No history or previous surgery. Improved with non-surgical management at his first 2 visits. Was not referred to follow up surgeon. 3rd visit to ER was seen in consultation by ATXRS Surgeon. Surgeon Recommended Evaluation of the small bowel given history of multiple bowel obstructions in the absence of surgery. Nothing seen on imaging. Surgeon included Meckels diverticulum in his differential diagnosis. Patient taken to OR and underwent Robotic evaluation of the small bowel. At the time of the operation a Meckels diverticulum was identified which was the source of the bowel obstructions. The diverticulum was easily resected and the patient was discharged home on the same day of surgery eating a regular diet. |
