Preventing adhesions may help reduce the scarring process. Use of an FDA approved amnion allograft can prevent adhesions. Amnion membrane also has potential to aid in the wound healing process through its inherent anti-inflammatory and multipotent properties. A pilot study is underway to examine the feasibility and short term results of amnion allograft usage to protect the neurovascular bundles. |
