| Video Discription | September is National Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month. Giant intracranial aneurysms are associated with a high risk of rupture and have a high mortality rate when they rupture (65-100%). They also often produce mass effect on surrounding brain and nerves. My surgical video demonstrating microsurgical clipping of giant ophthalmic and A1 lenticulostriate artery #aneurysms in a patient presenting with progressive visual field loss and retro-orbital headaches via modified one-piece orbitozygomatic approach with extradural clinoidectomy. Giant ophthalmic artery aneurysm controlled safely under temporarily occlusion with usuction decompression (Dallas technique) to safely dissect the neck and clip the aneurysm without intraoperative rupture.
