| Video Discription | For 30 years Dr. Finger has used plaque radiation to save vision, eyes and life for patients with iris and ciliary body cancers. However, since he started placing gold-eye plaques on the cornea to treat underlying iris and ciliary body cancers, he noted patient discomfort. In an effort to reduce pain and protect the corneal surface, Dr. Finger invented the amniotic buffer technique. Placed between the metal plaque and the cornea during implantation, Dr. Finger found that the amniotic membrane protects the cornea and greatly improves patient comfort during brachytherapy.
