| Video Discription | Dr. Jabor performs an implant exchange with a mastopexy (breast lift). Today, he's using the circumareolar approach, which uses two incisions: a large circle and a small circle. The larger circle will then close in with the smaller circle. Breast implant removal, or explantation, reverses the results of your breast implant surgery; during explantation, your surgeon will remove your breasts implants, addressing any scar tissue that may have resulted from your original procedure as well. At your direction, your surgeon can also insert new implants into the breast pocket and lift or reshape your breasts to restore a satisfying appearance, although these steps are not a required part of an explantation procedure. A breast lift, also known as a mastopexy, is a surgical procedure to raise and reshape sagging breasts. Over the years, factors such as pregnancy, nursing, and gravity take their toll on a woman’s breasts. As the skin loses its elasticity, the breasts often lose their shape and firmness and begin to sag. The number of women receiving breast lift surgery has grown by almost 90 percent since 2000, and in fact, that number surpasses the growth of augmentations during that time frame. More and more women are saying, “I want my breasts back.” Rather than increasing or decreasing the size of their breasts, they simply desire a more youthful shape that undoes the effects of age and other contributing factors. Dr. Mark A. Jabor is a board-certified plastic surgeon by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is a native El Pasoan and attended medical school at Texas-Tech School of Medicine. There he was inducted into the prestigious honor society Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA). He completed an internship in General Surgery and went on to complete a residency in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at Tulane University School of Medicine. After this, Dr. Jabor completed a Plastic Surgery residency at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston, Texas. He has authored several book chapters, presented papers at national and state meetings as well as publishing numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals.
