| Video Discription | It is the most common abdominal incision used for cesarean section. It involves giving the skin incision about 2 cm above the pubic symphysis in a slightly curvilinear fashion with concavity facing upwards. This is followed by incising the subcutaneous tissue and the rectus sheath using a knife or scissors. The sheath is then separated from the underlying muscles and cutting the linea alba in the midline. The recti are then separated and the peritoneum opened allowing access to the abdominal cavity. |
