| Video Discription | When performing hysterectomy for prolapse, vaginal vault suspension is both a therapy for apical insufficiency and helps prevent recurrence. The various available techniques are able to provide different post-operative anatomical results and have varied complications and complication rates. At present, there is no clear consensus regarding a standardized procedure or stringent guidelines for vaginal vault suspension. I personally prefer taking bilateral uterosacral bites during vault closure for additional support, but when I anticipate the need for some extra safety, I opt to suspend the vault with the round ligaments as well.
