| Video Discription | Pelvic exenteration is a salvage procedure performed for locally recurrent gynecologic cancers. Most candidates for this procedure have a diagnosis of recurrent cervical cancer or endometrial cancer that has previously been treated with surgery or surgery and radiation combine with chemotherapy or radiation and chemotherapy alone. In some cases, patients with recurrent uterine, vulvar, or vaginal cancers may also benefit from pelvic exenteration. We present the surgical specimen of a 54 years old patient with cervical cancer recurrence after radiotherapy and chemotherapy. We performed anterior supralevator exenteration. The biopsy of the specimen shows infiltration of the bladder. The surgical margins were free of disease. |
