| Video Discription | Pediatric patient with conductive hearing loss who previously underwent a right stapes mobilization for fixation at an outside facility. By report her hearing improved after surgery but subsequently declined. A preoperative temporal bone CT demonstrated no obvious source for her conductive hearing loss. The patient's family opted for a middle ear exploration. At the time of surgery the stapes was noted to be mobile but the incus appeared to be fixed. A wide atticotomy revealed incus short process fixation at the level of the incus buttress. The short process was divided with a diode laser. |
