| Video Discription | This video illustrates the transmastoid approach for the treatment of superior semicircular canal dehiscence syndrome using a microscopic technique under irrigation fluid. Two labyrinthotomies are made into the superior semicircular canal which are then plugged with temporalis fascia, bone paté (bone dust and fibrin sealant), and bone chips. The repair is then covered in bone dust and bone cement. In this case, a transmastoid approach was used because of radiographic concern for possible ossicular discontinuity and favorable anatomy. |
