| Video Discription | This lady developed a swelling in her anterior lower jaw region, which has progressively gotten larger over the last six months. She presented to our hospital for management. Imaging studies, including a 3D CT scan obtained at our hospital, revealed a radiolucent lesion, with biopsy returning positive for ameloblastoma. Segmental resection was performed, and the resultant bony defect was reconstructed with bone grafts harvested from the patient. Using the patient’s own rib graft is the ideal in jaw reconstruction, as the autologous rib graft integrates well with the surrounding jawbone, promoting natural healing and long-term stability. The rib also has the unique ability to regenerate from the remaining cartilage.
