| Video Discription | FREY’S LATERAL PANCREATICOJEJUNOSTOMY AUTHOR – DR YOGESH BANG, SURGICAL GASTROENTEROLOGY, MIDAS MULTISPECIALITY HOSPITAL NAGPUR CASE REPORT – 21 year young female, a diagnosed case of chronic calcific pancreatitis was under endotherapy. ERCP with PD stenting was done. Even with stent in situ, patient had recurrent attacks. Patient was planned for stent exchange and while doing that stent fractured and half of the stent remained in midbody pancreatic duct. Retrieval of this stent was not possible with ERCP. Another stent was placed in head of pancreas. In view of failed endotherapy, patient was taken for Surgical management. Bilateral subcostal incision was given. After exposing pancreas from head to tail, needle aspiration of pd was attempted. But due to ductal decompression, PD was not identified. So directly head coring was started. Bit by bit coring of head tissue was done and PD was identified in head. Stent in head was removed. PD was opened towards neck and body. Fractured stent was seen in mid body. Complete opening of duct was attained from head to tail. Roux limb was made and Lateral Pancreatico-jejunostomy was done using Prolene 2-0 r/b. Jejuno-jejnostomy was done distally. Patient had Delayed gastric emptying for 5 days. She was started of liquids on POD 6. Drain was removed and patient was discharged on POD 8.
