| Video Discription | The otologic surgeon must have good knowledge of the anatomy of the tensor fold when operating in ears with pathologies of ventilation. This particular anatomy has been challenging to visualize with microscopic surgical approach. In this video, I present 4 surgical cases of advanced chronic otitis media with unusual findings of obliterative deposits of tympanosclerosis replacing the tensor fold. The objective of this video lecture is to review the anatomy and demonstrate the endoscopic surgical technique to safely dissect this region to re-establish ventilation to the anterior attic. |
